Antique German Battle of Kipprath Memorial Cup and More
Item Details
An antique German battle of Kipprath memorial cup, given to the members of the 7th brigade who were involved in the battle of Kipprath, which was during the Balkin War. The translation on the front of the cup says ‘Our Kommarades are our greatest joy’. The cup has a white ground, with embossed green leaves and gilt accents to the sides, handle and inside rim. One side of the cup features hand-painted members of the 7th brigade around a cannon. This cup does not appear to be marked to the underside. Included is a Chinese hand-painted ginger jar decorated with red and purple flowers accented with gold-tone accents. The underside of this vase is marked. Included is a round alabaster trinket box in a light pink marbled color, this box is not marked to the bottom. A square ceramic trinket box stamped to the base ‘Royal Copenhagen Denmark’, is also included. The trinket box has an abstract lid and sides in a caramel glaze with brown accents in the shape of flowers. Also included is a brass seagull figurine. This piece is not marked to the base.
