A bronze reproduction sculpture after Louis Icart (France and New York, 1888-1950) titled Summer Day. This piece depicts a slender woman wearing skates and rolling a hoop as her dress flows all around her. The piece rests on a marble base with a brass plaque reading ‘Summer Day’ by Icart. Icart was a French artist living in Paris during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements; he is known for his etchings and bronze sculptures, which depict scenes of life in Paris, and beautiful, sensuous French women.
Condition
- to Fair; marble base has a split through the middle that has been repaired; plaque is detached from base; hoop is bent; chips to corners of base; some accretions and surface wear throughout.
