A Japanese woodblock on paper by Tsukioka Kōgyo (月岡 耕漁, 1869-1927) titled Sesshō-seki from the series Pictures of Noh Performances (Nogaku Zue) originally printed in 1898. This works depicts an actor wearing a mask with an elaborate garment with a floral motif. The actor stand on a platform with a casing to either reveling the figure. A person playing a drum is rendered in the background. This piece is presented behind glass in a green mat and bamboo work frame with decorative hanging hardware at the top. A hanging wire is present to the verso.
