A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Bakhshayesh Heriz wool area rug. This rug features an indigo and cream central medallion on a crimson field with floral decorations in cream, rose, sky blue, and sage green. The corners have a cream background with rose and sage green decoration. It is framed with a compound floral border with an indigo primary band flanked by mirrored cream bands. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural warp ivory fringe on the ends. It is unmarked.
