A vintage hand-knotted Persian Qum wool and silk blend rug. The rug features a central royal blue medallion with flanking pendants and tree of life motifs. The medallion is set atop a mustard colored field; also decorated with colorful vines, palmettes, and mirrored floral elements. The field is bound by cream-colored spandrels and a complex series of borders. The principal border displays a stylized meandering leaf and flower border set over a scarlet ground. The rug is finished with overcast edges and cropped warp fringe.
