A hand-knotted Turkish Soumak rug. The rug features an arabesque pattern of palmettes and vines in various shades of ochre and cornsilk over a warm brown field. The field is ringed by a compound border in traditional herati patterns in a monotone palette. The rug is finished with overcast edges and cropped warp fringe.
