A large collection of early twentieth century books. Included are seven (of eight) volumes of Complete Works of Shakespeare, published by David McKay. Each volume is bound in red cloth on board with gilt lettering. Also included are The Works of Victor Hugo in ten volumes (The Chesterfield Society), The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe in ten volumes (The Chesterfield Society, 1908), The Complete Works of Nathaniel Hawthorne in nine (of ten) volumes (The Caxton Society), and a complete twenty-four volume set of The Waverly Novels by Sir Walter Scott (The Nottingham Society). Each of these is bound fully in leather with gilt to spine and cover.
