A hand-knotted Karabagh-style wool area rug. The rug has been woven in shades of coral, espresso, salmon, ivory, peach, black, and midnight. The ivory lozenge field features a floral centerpiece composed of four stylized roses surrounded by a variety of densely placed blossoming plants. The spandrels are infilled with stylized palmettes and lobed flowers. The compound border begins with a serrate band and then moves into a lobed flower and meander design. The primary border features lilies and the outer guard border is a repeat of the flower and meander band.The selvedges are overcast and there is fringe at each end. The carpet is not marked.
