Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed palette of scarlet, coral, rose, cream, azure and black. It features an allover design incorporating rosettes, polygonal shields, wildflowers and a plethora of botehs over a scarlet field. The field is framed by four borders, including an unresolved main border featuring stylized split leaves, rosettes, botehs and polygons over cream. Minor borders include meandering-carnation patterns. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
