Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of scarlet, ivory, black, azure, ochre, carnation, wine, and teal. The scarlet colored field begins with a diamond medallion with a floral theme that flows throughout featuring flower filled vases, and bouquets, along with layered spandrels grounded in azure and ivory. Framing the field is a main stylized herati border, as well as a pair of floral meander guard borders, and a pair of chained box minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
