Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Abadeh wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, indigo, ivory, black, teal, burnt orange, azure, and black. The crimson colored lozenged field begins with a central medallion on a pole with stepped accents, and features columns, and tree of life motifs to the edges. The indigo grounded spandrels each feature a ram’s horn medallion, along with filler motifs that flow throughout the entire field and include animals, rosettes, boteh, kaikalak, and other geometrically shaped symbols. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded rosette and X patterned border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
