Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Karaja Heriz area rug. This wool rug offers three pole medallions with crenelated frames worked in onyx, azure, wine and watermelon. The remaining merlot colored field is filled with large tree forms, hooked pendants, eight pointed stars, geometric motifs and animal forms. Framing the rug are running water, geometric floral and angular meander borders. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with short ivory warp fringe. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating country of origin.
