Hand-Knotted Persian Turkmen Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Turkmen wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of wine, cranberry, cornsilk, and black. The wine hued field features a lattice of elephant’s foot guls, and diamond medallions ending in ram’s horns. Framing the field is a main border patterned with hooked medallions, along with picket guard borders and elem panels to each end with Tekke motifs. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool kilim skirt with wool warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside ‘Made in Iran’.
