Hand-Knotted Persian Serabend Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Serabend area rug. This wool rug features a hexagonal strawberry-colored field filled with small boteh motifs, the field offset by triangular spandrels grounded in royal blue and populated with abstract motifs. The palette is strawberry, royal blue, cream, mocha, cerulean and orange. Framing the field are compound borders including a Serabend meander border grounded in cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran’ on the reverse.
