Vintage Hand-Knotted Persian Malayer Carpet Runner
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Persian Malayer carpet runner. This wool pile rug is offered with an abrash color palette in watermelon, teal, rose, onyx, grey-blue, cinnamon and ivory. A floral medallion is placed to the center with shah abbasi at either end, while the remaining field is filled with floral motifs, sprays and stylized boteh. Framing the rug are reciprocal sawtooth, floral meander, and floral seraband borders in the field colors. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with ivory warp fringe at each end. It is labeled with a tag to the verso indicating the country of origin.
