Item Details
A vintage handwoven Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool rug is rendered in palette of scarlet, rose, cream, goldenrod, olive, khaki, indigo, teal, and umber and features a central medallion comprised of flowers, vines, and palmettes. The scarlet field is densely populated with floral sprays, sickle leaves, and palmettes, and is framed by compound borders over a teal ground and a primary border with a herati pattern over cream. It is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is marked with a label to the verso reading ‘Made in Iran’.
