Item Details
A hand -knotted Persian Mohajeran Sarouk wool room size rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of blue-violet, sky blue, crimson, ivory, coral, aqua, and wheat. The blue-violet colored field begins with a central pendant medallion in a bold sky blue, infilled with intricate vine-work and a crimson hued star medallion. The vine-work fills the remainder of the field with added palmettes and floral motifs, as well as to the ivory grounded spandrels. Framing the field is a main crimson grounded herati border, along with floral meander guard borders, and Hamadan minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside ‘Made in Iran’.
