A limited edition lithograph on paper, created in 1978 by listed Abstract Expressionist artist Josep Guinovart (Spanish Catalan, 1927-2007). The work depicts a composition of various splatter shapes rendered in black, red, yellow, and blue on tan paper. The print is signed “Guinovart 78” in graphite to the lower right and numbered to the lower left as 97 out of an edition of 100. It is presented under glass with white matting and housed in a. composite wood frame.

Known for his Abstract Expressionist work, Josep Guinovart was greatly influenced by the Catalan landscape and the work of Picasso and Miró. In the 1960s his compositions became more politically charged as he was active in the anti-Franco movement. His work has been collected by numerous institutions including the Guggenheim Museum, the Museo Reina Sofia, and the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico, among many others.
