Vintage Oak Chest with Hand-Painted Strawberry Motif

A vintage all purpose oak chest. Featured is a hand crafted decorative wooden box with a hinged lid, modern side handles, and a hand-painted strawberry motif in tones of red, emerald, cream, and pastel yellow. The piece was constructed with a screw reinforced lap joint and is bordered with black stained edges. It opens to reveal a pair of contemporary hinges, a silver tone chain support, and a nesting tray with slat rests. A maker’s mark was not visible.

Condition

- to poor, heavy surface scratches and marks throughout wood, minor loss of painted finish, marks from where hinges on exterior of lid were removed, hardware has been replaced throughout, patina to oak throughout.
