An original late-19th century oil painting on paperboard by well-listed British landscape painter Edgar E. West (active 1857- 1892). The painting depicts massive stone cliffs rising dramatically above a beach where figures watch three boats sail into the distance. The painting is signed to the lower right. It is presented behind glass in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, gold tone finish, and a hanging wire. - frame has some areas of loss and is separating at corners.
