An original vintage oil painting on board by listed American artist Joseph James Crilley (Pennsylvania, 1920 – 2008), titled Unloading Mackarel. The painting depicts a group of wooden boats docked at a long wooden structure. Figures load and unload boxes from the boats as a cloudy sky glows in shades of blue and coral beyond the scene. The painting is signed to the lower right and is signed and titled to the verso. A sticker saying the piece won the ‘The Franklin B. Williams Fund Prize’ is attached to the piece’s verso, along with an exhibition listing that includes the piece from the Salmagundi Club..
