A painted cast metal Christian motif panel with velvet backing. Presented is a painted cast metal panel featuring the depiction of a lamb, laying on the Christian Bible, floating on a cloud. Seven rectangular shapes of colors, red, green, and blue, possibly representing seven candles, with red circular bases are depicted on the cloud in front of the bible. Rays of light shine down behind the lamb, and the cloud with the lamb, and a cross in the background, appear to be ascending into the light. A grape vine and acanthus motif horizontal border accents the top, and gothic style arches with quatrefoil shapes between them frame the image to the left and right sides. The vine is highlighted with a gilt finish, the rest of the frame has a blue finish with gilt accents. A cabernet red velvet cloth is affixed to the back of the panel showing through the open areas of the design.

Condition

-marks and scratches to the finish throughout, fabric backing is loose and separating from the panel. Some areas of rust and tarnish, particularly on the back.
