Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Pakistani wool long rug by Arthur T. Gregorian Inc. This gorgeous palace sized rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, black, mint, rose, gold, wine, sky blue, wheat, and pale yellow. The ivory colored field features a paneled design with each square intricately designed with scrolling vine-work, flowering plants that possibly depict the four seasons, and other floral motifs. Framing each panel is a black grounded frame with medallions at each intersection displaying similar patterns with added palmettes. The same black border framed the field as a whole, along with a floral meander, and a leaf meander border, both broken by the intersecting medallions. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. The underside is labeled ‘A Gregorian Oriental’.
