A charcoal and graphite drawing on paper titled Poeta (Benjamin Ivry) by well-listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954), dated to 1984. This work depicts a portrait of the American author and poet Benjamin Ivry (b. 1958) with his eyes closed. The piece is signed and dated to the lower right corner. It is presented unmounted and unframed in an acetate sleeve.

Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that exhibit a combination of linear delineation and fluidity.
