An open edition currency print titled 2 Sides of Capitalism by well-listed contemporary American street artist, Shepard Fairey (born 1970). The small but thought provoking work depicts a sheet of paper currency reimagined by the artist encased in thick acrylic. The bill’s obverse reads ‘Power to the People’ printed to either side of Fairey’s iconic ‘Obey’ logo. The reverse side of bill reads ‘Obedience is the Most Valuable Currency’ to the top of the design. The art work on each side of the bill incorporates images and phrases reflecting Fairey’s unique world view. The piece is signed in plate and presented in an acrylic block.
