Woodblock Prints After Bertall "Types de la Commune"

A pair of woodblock prints from Types de la Commune after original works by listed, French artist Bertall (Charles Albert D’Arnoux, 1820-1882). These prints feature different illustrated scenes from La Commune in Paris, which was a radical socialist and revolutionary government that ruled Paris in the Spring of 1871. They are both signed in plate to the bottom left. Each print is matted and presented in a metallic toned wood frame under glass.
Condition
- backing to frames are poorly attached with tape; scratches, dents, and marks to frame; marks and debris to glass; compositions sit loose in frame.
