A etching on paper after well-listed Dutch Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) unofficially titled Self Portrait In A Velvet Cap With Plume. This restrike of the original 1638 image depicts the artist gazing directly at the viewer, wearing a large cloak and a velvet cap with a long, curled plume extending from one side. This piece is signed in plate to the upper left corner. It is matted in white and mounted in a black and gilt wood frame. Hanging hardware is present to the verso.
Condition
- glass could be cleaned more thoroughly; light wear to frame finish.
