Antique Oak Alms Box

Item Details

An antique alms box. This alms box is constructed of oak with forged iron hardware straps in a quatrefoil design. There is a small slot to the top of its hinged lid for receiving donations of alms and two iron loops to the front for securing the box with locks.

Condition

- pitting and rust to metal; wear and residue to wood; splitting to back panel; contemporary eye hooks and wire for hanging applied to verso.
