An original acrylic painting on canvas by contemporary artist Colette Dorais. This abstract painting features a large drip of back paint swirled against a simple white background. It is signed in black pigment to the lower left and a printed artist bio is attached to the verso.

Colette Dorais is a self-taught artist working in oils, acrylic, India ink, watercolor, graphite, photography,
and mixed media. Born in California to Canadian parents, Colette was the kid who always packed a ton of art supplies and and books while forgetting to bring practical things like shoes and shampoo. In college, she took classes in drawing, painting, composition, and ceramics while working at an art store and painting in her
bathtub. She continued her education by taking art history and technique classes while volunteering at
the private museum, Mill House in Garden Grove, California. A few decades later, Colette works full time
as a second generation realtor in Kentucky and Ohio and shares her studio space with two pesky cats.
With a bold approach to harmony, fluidity, color, and shading, her work dynamically explores geometric
and curvilinear form while providing visual references to the both the organic world and the complexity
of the electronic realm.
