An original signed watercolor on paper of a woodpile in winter by listed Cincinnati artist Frank McElwain. The painting depicts a pile of logs awaiting to be split, with a long-handled axe leaning against the wood. The logs are set in a snowy landscape with small brush and grasses peeping up through the snow. The painting is signed in pencil to the lower right and displayed under glass in double mats of medium gray and putty, with a narrow wood frame with a light stained finish. The frame is wired to the back for wall attachment and retains a sticker from The Miller Gallery to the verso.
