Item Details
A contemporary oil painting on canvas signed ‘A. Sweands’. The piece depicts a 19th-century European market scene. Pedestrians, vendors and horse-drawn carts fill a historic city courtyard surrounded by gothic-style architecture. The work is signed by the artist to the lower right, with the artist’s name additionally written to the canvas verso by an unknown hand. It is presented without glass in a wooden frame with moulded foliate embellishments, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
