An oil painting on canvas titled Vigilant in the Storm by listed American artist and magazine cover illustrator Harold Anderson (1894-1973). This illustrative image depicts a United States serviceman peering upward through binoculars in a thunderstorm. A second figure using a telephone is visible through a window of the watchtower. The realistically rendered work is signed by Anderson in the lower left corner. It is presented in a gilt wood frame with a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
