A watercolor and gouache painting of poppies by T. Aoki. This piece depicts a cluster of stylized red and white flowers with a beetle crawling through toward the upper right. The carefully-rendered piece is signed ‘T. Aoki’ to its lower right along with a line of calligraphic Japanese text, and is matted under protective glazing in a gilt frame with a wire for hanging to its verso.

Condition

- toning on ground; foxing on mat board along right side; chips and wear throughout edge of frame; adhesive on verso is toning and coming off of edges of backing paper.
