An antique European oil painting from the late 19th to early 20th century. This portrait depicts a rosy-cheeked girl with her pink coat unbuttoned and falling down her shoulders, revealing a green skirt and white shift. It is painted with a mix of Classical and turn-of-the-century stylistic elements. It has been cleaned of the original varnish to reveal bright colors, with some repairs made in a conservation effort. The work has a signature to the lower left that has been rubbed off, as well as marked ‘18’. The piece is presented in a gold tone painted wood frame with foliate cartouche molding in the corners and center sides. There is wire to the verso for hanging.

- to Fair; stretcher marks; blacklight reveals in-painting throughout particularly to face and hair; over painting to upper corners of sky; discoloration to varnish remnants after cleaning; some craquelure to areas of paint; wear and abrasions to edges; patches to verso of canvas at center; cracks and loss to molding of frame particularly to lower left; discoloration and wear to frame and verso.
