Antique Jackfield Covered Jug

Item Details

An antique Jackfield covered jug with a later finial and mountings. This jug dates to the late eighteenth to early nineteen century. Black glazed earthenware hailed from the town of Jackfield beginning in the mid-eighteenth century and now all antique black wares of this type are referred by this name. The silver plated urn shaped finial was likely a later addition.
