A Japanese cut paper composition. This piece depicts the stylized shapes of thistles arranged into a loose semi-circle, cut from reddish paper. There is a signature seal toward the lower left corner of the piece, which is mounted under glass and layered matting in a shadowbox-style frame, a hanging wire and label to its verso.
