A Conn Baker nude figure drawing. Ohioan Conn Baker (1871 – 1944) was a world-record bicycle racer known as the Columbus Flyer, a circus performer billed as the amazing Diavolo, and a distinguished artist who ended his career as a state auditor. This nude figure study is rendered in graphite and charcoal on a cream hued paper. The drawing is signed and dated ‘Feb 1910’ by the artist’s hand to the lower right hand side, is under a white mat, behind acrylic and presented in a white composite frame with wire to verso.
