A mid-century etching on paper by Leiper. The Expressionist-inspired portrait depicts the face of a man with a dark beard and payot sidelocks, rendered in short black lines against a cream ground. The print is inscribed indiscernibly to the lower left and signed in pencil to the lower right, appearing to read ‘G. Leiper’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. It is double-matted in tan and sage green and presented under glass in a wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- to fair; slight warping and billowing to paper; discoloration to print and matting; minor scratches and edge wear to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
