19th Century Wm. L. Gilbert Gingerbread Mantel Clock
Item Details
A 19th century Wm. L. Gilbert gingerbread mantel clock. An oak wood clock with a cut out and pressed wood bonnet with a floral design and cutout side columns with a scrollwork and floral design. The clock has a glass front door that has an elegant reverse painted gilded floral design and displays a gold tone bezel surrounding a white metal face with black Roman numerals and hands and two brass key arbors. Other features of the clock include a brass pendulum, an 8-day time and strike fusee movement, a brass winding key and the clock stands on a plinth style base with a pressed floral design. The clock is marked Wm. L.Gilbert Manufacturing Co.’ on the verso.
