A Chinese wood wall sculpture. This delicately carved work features Chang’e, the goddess of the moon. She is depicted standing, looking upward as her elegant dress blows in the wind. It appears to be unmarked. To the verso is hanging hardware.

Condition

- some pieces of wood that have broken off the sculpture to the front of the woman’s dress; some wear to the edges (to the woman’s chin); accretions; minor surface and edge wear.
