A pair of vintage Thai legend of Phra Malai scroll paintings. These original paintings originate from Thailand circa mid-twentieth century and depict lively scenes from the Thai legend of Phra Malai, in which a Buddhist monk gains supernatural powers through meditation and merit. Both pieces are painted in traditional Thai style using a vibrant color palette of carmine red, ochre, hunter green, cerulean, and black on a coated cotton ground material. The pieces are unsigned by the artist and are presented scrolled and unframed. For coordinating pieces, see item number 18COL052-059.
