Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Tribal Accent Rug
Item Details
An antique Persian tribal accent rug. This wool rug, attributed to an Afshar or Luri weaver, is hand knotted in an abrashed palette of cinnamon, sapphire, azure, mocha and cream. It begins with a contoured, stepped lozenge over a cinnamon and azure field. The lozenge features a vertical row of three hooked medallions surrounded by herds of goats and geometric rosettes. Framing the field are four borders, including diagonal stripes, meandering florals, sawtooth and barber-pole patterns. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with warp fringe made of cream and brown goat hair. The rug is unlabeled.
