A black and white leather chair titled Alessandra by Javier Mariscal. Featured is an armchair with overlapping and amorphous coupling of black and white leather pieces with a skewed backing.

Spanish artist and designer, Javier Mariscal, was born February 1950 in Valencia. Mariscal’s work is comprised of a wide range of mediums including painting to interior design, which he uses to convey his own personal symbolism, language, and poetry. He studied at Colegio El Pilar in Valencia and then the Elisava School in Barcelona before leaving early to pursue his own creative impulses. Initially, Mariscal worked in comics, a skill which he developed and translated into illustration, sculpture, graphic design, film, and interior design. Mariscal has received the National Design Prize of the Spanish Department of Industry and the BCD Foundation grants in recognition of achievements throughout his professional career.
