Hand-Knotted Carved Chinese Savonnerie Style Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted carved Chinese Savonnerie style area rug. This wool rug has been woven in shades of ivory, ecru, rose, powder blue and onyx. A large floral medallion is encircled by leafy garlands on the onyx field. A frame of baroque style leaf patterns cover the ivory border with a narrow ivory trim to the field. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with a kilim skirt and ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
