A light gray polypropylene table designed by Philippe Starck, dated 1988. This table features a rectilinear top with angled edges mounted to a base with undulating curves and a wave-like design to the center.

Philippe Starck was born in France in 1949 and studied at the École Camondo in Paris. Starck has become renowned for his wide range of designs, from household objects to architecture and everything in between. He was commissioned to refurbish the apartments in the Élysée Palace in Paris for French President François Mitterrand and designed the restaurant interiors for the Café Costes in Paris, Manin in Tokyo, Theatron in Mexico City, and Teatriz in Madrid. Starck was also in charge of the interior design of the Royalton and Paramount hotels in New York City.
