Hand-Knotted Painted Hamadan Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool accent rug is hand-knotted in a palette of cranberry red, slate blue, burgundy, camel, indigo, burnt orange, midnight, and ivory. The colors have been intensified with additional paint or dye after weaving. The field is patterned with arrangements of stylized flowers and leaves in vases and the compound border integrates serrate, flower and meander, and flower and split leaf bands. The selvedges have been overcast and the ends have been stabilized with stitching. There are small inventory tags affixed to the underside.
