Hand-Knotted Persian-Inspired Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian-inspired wool area rug. The large carpet has been woven in a palette which includes vermilion, robin’s egg blue, ivory, buff, dove, mauve, emerald, and midnight blue. The vermilion field is populated by an overall herati design which incorporates scrolled lance leaves, arabesques, and palmettes. Paired split leaf and lobed flower and flower and meander guard borders flank the herati primary border. The selvedges have been overcast and there is knotted fringe at each end. The rug is not labeled.
