A 19th-century lithograph on paper titled U.S. Ship of the Line Pennsylvania, 140 Guns published by lithographer Nathanial Currier (American, 1813 – 1888) of Currier and Ives. The piece depicts the United States naval ship the USS Pennsylvania sailing in choppy ocean waves, with ship information printed in plate along the lower margin. The unsigned print is presented under glass in an antique wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- foxing, discoloration, fading and toning throughout image; media loss, marks and surface wear to image; possible mold spots present to edges; nicks, scuffs, scratches, edge wear and loose joints to frame; stains and discoloration to frame backing.
