A woodblock on paper created circa 1930 by well-listed French artist Ludovic-Rodo Pissarro (1878 – 1952). The image depicts a woman and a man engaged in a confrontational embrace, surrounded by an asymmetrical expanse of empty space, creating the suggestion of an isolated, dark corner. Artist initials are inscribed in ink to the lower left. This work is mounted under black mat, set behind glass and presented in a gilt wood frame, equipped to hang. A certificate of authenticity signed by Clement Cohen of Spring Sources Fine Art in Encino, California is attached to the verso, accompanied by additional information about the artist.
Condition
- toning on ground; debris beneath acrylic covering. When examined outside of frame, the verso of the paper appears to have been printed with relief as well.
