Antique China Head Doll with Cloth and Leather Body

An antique china head doll. The doll’s hand-painted porcelain head features curly black hair with a flat top, middle part, and high brow. She has bright blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and a diminutive rosebud mouth. The body is comprised of cloth, while the hands are of leather with individually stitched fingers. The period appropriate dress is rendered in scarlet fabric and embellished with black velvet, delicate ivory lace, and carved buttons. She wears black leather boots on her feet, and does not bear a discernible maker’s mark.
